Benefits

TMG (trimethylglycine) donates methyl groups directly — it keeps homocysteine in the normal range and takes the load off methylfolate when demand runs high. As an osmolyte, it supports cellular hydration too.

Ingredients

Trimethylglycine (betaine). Vegan hydroxypropyl methylcellulose capsule. No fillers, non-GMO.

How to take

2 capsules daily, with food. Works in sync with L-Methylfolate⁺ — together they cover the whole methyl cycle.

For the body and the mind.

Methylation runs 300 billion times a day and powers how you feel.

Energy Methylation drives energy production in your cells. More output, less afternoon crash.
Mood and focus Serotonin and dopamine are built with methyl groups. Steady chemistry, steady day.
Detox Your liver neutralizes toxins through methylation. The body cleans house while you sleep.
DNA repair Every cell division needs methyl groups. Accurate copies, healthy tissue.
Hormonal balance Excess hormones leave the body through methylation. That's how the balance maintains itself.
Immune defense Immune cells divide fast and demand methyl groups. Good methylation, fewer sick days.

One system. Six areas that depend on it.

The cycle's methyl donor.

TMG is the cycle's reserve methyl donor. When the load rises, it takes over — and homocysteine stays in the normal range.

The benefits build over time

  1. Week 1

    Fill in what's missing

As the gaps close, you'll notice steadier daily energy and a more balanced mood.

  2. Week 2

    Clarity comes back

Improved neurotransmitter function brings better focus, stronger motivation and steadier brain performance.

  3. Week 3

    Mental lift and resilience

Better emotional and physical stamina, less overwhelm, and a clearer, more engaged mind.

  4. Month 1

    Whole-body recalibration

Methylation cycles stabilize. The nervous system, cardiovascular function and your sleep-and-recovery rhythm start to sync up.

  5. Month 2 and beyond

    Long-term activation

Mood, cognition and cardiovascular function keep improving. Long-term folate intake settles methylation, detox and brain support into a rhythm.

Read a fair bit before ordering and worked out that folate on its own isn't the whole picture. Got this one to round it off and I take it in the morning with the rest. Three months in I'd say it was worth it, though I couldn't explain why to a mate in two sentences.

I work the front desk at a hotel on the coast, and by August I usually get home not wanting to speak to anyone. This season I got through the last two weeks without counting the days, and I even went out with the girls after a shift.

Two small kids, and my afternoons used to pass in a fog with nothing left for a bedtime story. I've had it alongside the B-complex for two months and the difference shows most in my patience, which matters more to me than energy does.

For a long time I couldn't separate it from everything else I take in the morning. I ran my own experiment in August and left only this one in. I handled the heat at work better than I ever have, so that answered my question.

Two months of nothing and I'd written it off. The third month caught me out, because I started leaving the gym without that feeling I'd left everything behind me on the floor. I take it year-round now.

Forty kilometres a week for years, and my legs always took ages to come back, especially after the long Sunday run. Two months of taking this with the folate and the second hard session of the week no longer wrecks me. I'm not faster, I just last longer.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is TMG?

TMG is short for trimethylglycine, a naturally occurring nutrient first isolated from sugar beets. Each molecule carries three methyl groups your body can use to turn homocysteine back into methionine.

How is trimethylglycine different from betaine hydrochloride?

Betaine hydrochloride is bound to hydrochloric acid and is used mainly to raise stomach acidity. TMG (anhydrous betaine) is acid-free and aimed at methylation. We use pure anhydrous betaine, which has no effect on stomach pH.

Why combine TMG with L-methylfolate?

Folate and TMG use separate pathways to recycle homocysteine. Taking both creates a two-lane system: folate supports the brain and nerves, while TMG works in the liver — lowering homocysteine faster and sparing folate for the cognitive benefits.

When should I take it?

One capsule with breakfast is ideal. If you also take L-Methylfolate⁺, take them together. Athletes sometimes add a second capsule 30 minutes before training for extra methyl support.

How long until I feel a difference?

Lab markers (homocysteine) often improve within 4–6 weeks. The subjective benefits — steadier energy and clearer focus — usually show up over the same period, though some people notice subtle changes earlier.

Is TMG safe for everyone?

In clinical studies, trimethylglycine is well tolerated up to 6 g/day. That said, if you have kidney disease, trimethylaminuria (fish-odor syndrome) or take homocysteine medication, talk to a medical professional first.

Does TMG raise stomach acid or cause reflux?

No. Unlike betaine hydrochloride, TMG contains no acid and doesn't change stomach pH. Most people experience no digestive discomfort.

Is it vegan, and does it contain allergens?

Yes — our betaine is plant-derived, encapsulated in plant cellulose. It contains no gluten, soy, dairy or artificial fillers.

Can I use TMG during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

TMG occurs naturally in foods, but supplemental doses should be agreed with a doctor specialized in prenatal care, so they match your individual methylation and choline needs.
